Halifax City Hall

Halifax City Hall is located at the north end of the Grand Parade in the downtown area.  The back of the building runs along the slope of Duke Street across from Scotia Square shopping mall.  In the summer, there is a Tourist Information centre located in the bottom floor of the building, with the entrance at the Barrington Street and Duke Street corner.

In recent years, the cities of Halifax and Dartmouth, the towns of Bedford and Sackville, and Halifax County have been amalgamated into one large civic entity - the Halifax Regional Municipality.  Construction of City Hall began in 1887.
